I knew the day Hanzel was born 6 yrs ago that my dream horse was finally here and it was a life time wait for him. For some reason as a young girl, I had always wanted a horse to be named "Hanzel", but never came across the horse I had envisioned who'd suit the name. When I saw him the day he was born, I said to Allan.. " He's finally here"!!

He was born big and has always been a big easy going guy who was super smart to train.  Hanzel and I have been partners in the show ring since he was 2 yrs old. He took to showing like a pro and has never been bad or offered to spook and loves the show ring and atmosphere. Hanzel receives alot of attention where ever he goes.

Hanzel has won many ribbons at the shows and he also won the 2011 Saskatchewan Horse Federation, Heritage Classic, District 1, Senior Champion in the Hack and Hunter Divisions.

Hanzel stands an impressive 18.1 hh. He has gone to the nursing home at Tatagwa View to visit my father and other residents, who had never seen a horse as large as he is. He is a gentle giant and he has given children as young as 5 a ride and he also helps train other young horses.

Hanzel won Senior Hack champion for District 1 for the Heritage Circuit and then he won Senior 2’9-3’ Prairie Cup Hunter Champion and was presented with the cooler that he’s wearing.

We also won honors for Hunter breeder of the year, for having bred and raised Hanzel.

The Sask Horse federation holds year end awards for both prairie cup and heritage awards for those with the highest points at the shows for 2013.  These awards were presented at the Horse Expo Sat. Feb 8th.
